Is it better to be scraggly or save money?
Shoot. No sooner than I posted about our money fast, the Mister informs me he planned to get a haircut tomorrow. It's been 3 hours and I'm still torn: do we permit this previously unauthorized grooming expedition, or does he wear his hair in a 1963 Beatle-esque 'do? It'll only be $15 bucks, but it remains a dillema.
A few years back, he wore his hair in a long ponytail, and when he finally cut it, three things happened:
- He donated the hair to Locks of Love
- The haircut was free because of the donation.
- His boss subsequently gave him a raise, because he thought the haircut was part of an effort to look presentable for a new-job hunt.

Oh, go to the Aveda salon on market and 16h. The first hair cut is $11 and they give you the works!
Is there a way you could trim his hair and hold off the $15 dollars for another couple of weeks?
If you do that enough, you could cut down on the number of times he goes in.
Hmm.. that's a good idea Dawn. I've seen videos at the library that show how to cut men's hair. How hard can it be?
(Just watch, in a week, he'll be walking around with a shaved head because I messed it up!)
This may not be for everybody but I've cut my own hair for most of my life and, in the process, saved thousands. Of course I got better with time but, in my opinion, it's never been bad - and I'm happy with it most of the time. I think it depends on your hair and, I suspect, on your gender.
See for yourself.
